Rafał Brzoska about the reform of the arms. It indicates not only the level of expenditure


In the conversation published on Tuesday, Brzoska – head of the deregulation team – pointed out, among others, that history suggests that alliances written on paper must be supplemented with a very strong economy and wise policy of strengthening their own armed forces.

“This is the most important thing. Today we have the most serious NATO crisis in history. I dare say that – maybe outside the Scandinavian countries – we are the only state of alliance that can strengthen its army on a large scale” – he assessed.
When asked if 5 percent GDP is enough, he replied that yes, but the question of how we spend this money. “Most go to foreign arms concerns, which needs to be changed” – he noted.

“With such amounts, we are able to build our own industry, both state and private. 95 percent products supplied by American companies come from the private sector. It's hard to understand why we don't imitate it. We have a chance to export, increase tax revenues, more jobs, faster economic growth. One national arms company is unable to meet expectations. The scale is too large. The private sector has the potential, “he said.
