In Achinsk, a 66-year-old woman became a victim of a cynical deception by scammers and lost her money. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region spoke about this.

The pensioner turned to law enforcement for help and reported that unknown persons had stolen about 22 thousand rubles from her bank account. The police found out that the day before the woman received a message on a social network from an old friend, which said that one of the banks was giving its clients a cash reward in the amount of 6 thousand rubles.

To receive money, you had to send your bank card details, which the achinka did. After that, all funds were written off from her account overnight.

“The trusting pensioner only realized in the morning that she had fallen into the trap of scammers when she went to a social network and wanted to write to a friend who wrote about a tempting offer from the bank, and saw that her account was doubled and it was not she who wrote at all,” law enforcement agencies reported.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened under paragraph “g”, part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft from a bank account.”

Police officers urge citizens not to believe in such messages about winnings, compensation, or monetary rewards. Remember, free cheese is only in a mousetrap. If you receive messages from friends or relatives asking you to carry out financial manipulations, you should know that these are scammers. Call this person using the phone number that is saved in your directory.
