During the election debate on Wednesday night, organized at the Parliament Palace by Antena 3 CNN, Crin Antonescu repeatedly asked Nicușor Dan if “you have signed an approval for an oncological hospital that you have postponed”. The mayor of Bucharest acknowledged that yes and added that it is not normal for a private to build where he wants.

Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan on Wednesday had a new heated exchange of replicas, the candidate of the ruling coalition accusing the mayor of the capital of delaying a lot to grant an authorization regarding the construction of a private oncological clinic, in Bucharest. Antonescu said that the clinic had a “two -year -old court decision. “For several months,” Nicușor Dan replied, counting it. “But is it true that you signed the approval today?”, Antonescu insisted. How did it all start?

The dialogue between the two candidates

“Mr. Nicușor Dan, 5 years ago, was asked for approval for an oncological clinic for children, Sanador, you have been in lawsuits. Two years ago a court of pronoun, in two years you were forced to sign the authorization.

“I am not interested only in how an honest man who wants to fight corruption says, who wants to do the reign of the law in Romania, does not respect a court decision. I ask you, however, would you think of children, young people who have been deprived of the possibility of a better treatment? Why is you doing?”

Nicușor Dan replied: “If you have any problem with the way the cancer is treated in Romania, please contact your colleague, Mr. Rafila (Alexandru Rafila, Minister of Health, no). Romania ”.

“If due to the lack of this vision on the health system, pressure is put on a mayor to sign an act that he considers illegally, I think we have to let him judge the legality. And it is not two years, it is a few months and less since the final decision was written, to know what to do,” explained the general mayor.

Crin Antonescu then replied: “I and I think you, we all even have a problem with cancer, because Romania is in the first place. It is about the fact that someone had powers, he had every reason to build a children's clinic. No one asked you to decide quickly or slowly. Five years you have been in the trials, for two years, for two years, for two years, for two years, days ”.

“This is the question, it is not about Rafila, it is not about combating cancer in general in this world. Be human! Slow, but human, give me an answer,” continued the Coalition candidate.

And Nicușor Dan replied: “This is exactly about Mr. Rafila, if you have discussed cancer patients, I think we have to ask if they are well treated by your coalition colleagues.”

Crin Antonescu insisted: “Did you give the approval or not?”.

“Yes. This does not mean that a private private doctors have to build illegally where he builds,” Nicușor Dan replied.

The candidate supported by the PSD-PNL-UDMR has concluded the subject stating: “For two years it is the judicial sentence. All I have to find is that we have to do an election campaign every month because, for electoral reasons, you have signed what you have not been signed today, two days have been sufficient.”

Last year, in June, the general mayor gave some details, for Hotnews, about the situation of the private clinic now invoked by Crin Antonescu.

“This is a process with the Sanador Hospital at the intersection of Calea Victoriei with Sevastopol. There is already a building that greatly agrees the historical area and they want to expand even more. We have refused to issue their building permit, have sued us and we lost in the first phase and now we are in the execution phase,” Nicu.
