War in the Middle East. Another wave of Israeli airstrikes on Beirut

Israeli air forces carried out another wave of airstrikes on the Lebanese capital Beirut, including the city center, on Thursday afternoon, AFP reported. The Israeli military issued a warning to residents, ordering them to evacuate and warning that it would attack pro-Iranian Hezbollah targets.

The Bashur district in central Beirut was attacked; Israeli attacks on this area are rare, the south of the city, considered to be a Hezbollah stronghold, is usually attacked – noted AFP.

Israel has been conducting an air war with Iran since February 28, together with the United States. Hezbollah, sponsored by Tehran, attacked Israel in early March, entering the conflict and drawing Lebanon into the war.

The Israeli army on Thursday renewed its call on residents of southern Lebanon to leave the area immediately due to the fighting. Another wave of shelling in the area was also reported.

Israeli attacks on Lebanon have so far killed at least 687 people, including 98 children, the Lebanese government said on Thursday. According to the authorities in Beirut, 800,000 people have fled their homes. of approximately 6 million inhabitants of the country.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kac said on Thursday that the military should be ready to expand the scale of operations in Lebanon.
