“Please don't take me home again!”. An 11-year-old child, beaten by his mother's boyfriend, asked the authorities for help

An 11-year-old boy from Cluj county managed to get out of a violent family environment, after asking for the help of specialists. The child went after school to a counseling and support center for parents and children in Măguri-Răcătău commune, writes the website Totuldespremame.
One day, the employees of the institution noticed that he had visible bruises on his face and neck. After several discussions, the boy told that he had been beaten by his mother's partner. The case was immediately reported to the authorities, and the child was removed from the family and placed urgently in a protection center.
The bruises that led to the discovery of the truth
The referral was made a few days ago by the center's staff, after the social workers noticed that the boy showed signs of violence on several parts of the body. According to Știrile PRO TV, one of the specialists managed to convince him that he is safe and that he can tell what happened to him.
“There were only bruises on the face and neck. He said he also had bruises on his back. When he lifted his blouse, I found that the marks were quite serious and were deep with the belt,” said the center's social worker. Specialists at the center told authorities that the 11-year-old boy was very afraid to return home.
“A Child's Cry of Desperation”
The center's employees immediately notified the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection and the police. The child begged the adults not to send him back home. The mayor of Măguri-Răcătău commune, Alexandru Livescu, described the situation as “a cry of despair from a tortured child who no longer wants to go to the environment where he was mistreated and beaten”.
Child Protection representatives confirmed that the boy was a victim of physical abuse and decided to remove him from the family immediately. “We confirm the existence of physical abuse in this context, establishing the measure of emergency placement at a center. We will go to the court, within the legal term, with a proposal to replace the emergency placement with placement, respecting the child's opinion, that of remaining in the protection system,” Alina Chiorean, DGASPC Cluj representative, told Pro TV News.
