We were not afraid to propose such a budget construction, where everything is stripped to the max. The implementation of this budget will require precision and perfection, and the decisions that hide behind this budget will require courage and imagination to present it – said the prime minister.

He emphasized that this is the state budget, which “a civilization SKOK has been made in recent months.”

– We finally finally We say goodbye to Pisowska Drożyna, we arranged the state budget, where inflation is one of the lower in Europe – he said. – We achieved 3 percent inflation – he added.

Donald Tusk emphasized that until recently, because before the last parliamentary elections there were times when inflation was double -digit and when “everything was more expensive by a few percent of each month.”

– I emphasize with satisfaction that we have low inflation today with views of the future. And this is not our last word. We say goodbye to the path and say goodbye to stagnation – said Tusk.

He added that in the last year of Law and Justice rule, economic growth was 0.2 percent. – It was really enough to take power and give them into the hands of responsible people so that inflation drops to 3 percent, and economic growth increased to 3 percent. he added.

Nobody will be interested that we have a deficit, high – too high deficit, that I would be happy – if the war continues to fight. We will not defend the Polish border with a low deficit, we will defend his Polish border with a Polish modern army. If we assume in this budget that we will spend PLN 200 billion on defense, it must cost it – said Donald Tusk.

He added that it would be better that “the deficit was lower, but we will not build a modern railway network with abstract statistics.” – We are in the process of building the most modern railway network in Europe – the head of government pointed out. And he added: “We will do it quickly. There is no day that Poles do not feel this promotion of our railways somewhere in Poland. But beloved, this is another PLN 100 billion – I am talking about all infrastructure expenses” – said Prime Minister Tusk.

He thanked the Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański and his colleagues for “responsible guarding the security limit, but also for the courage to reach this border.”

– Because this is modern, flexible and imagination of public finance management. We are not afraid to reach a certain limit, but we also make sure that no one crosses this border – said Tusk. – We will not allow anyone to overdo it and blow up the state's financial security, because we calculated it almost to a zloty to keep it a safe limit. It is a very ambitious and safe Poland budget – he added.

According to the budget procedure, presented on the website of the Ministry of Finance, in August, the Ministry of Finance is to develop and send the government a preliminary draft budget, and then transfer it to the opinion of the Social Dialogue Council. The Council of Ministers has until September 30 this year to adopt the final draft budget for the next year and submitting it to the Sejm. According to the constitution, the budget should go to the president to signature within 4 months of the date of handing over the draft budget act to the Sejm. If this does not happen, the president may order shortening the term of office of the Sejm within 14 days. The Basic Law provides that the president signs the budget within 7 days.

Tusk: In the budget for 2026, PLN 200 billion for defense is a gigantic money, but we know what we are doing

We will defend the Polish border with a modern, great army – said Tusk.

– If in this budget we assume that we spend on security, to defend PLN 200 billion, it must cost. These 200 billion is not an abstraction. This is a gigantic money. We know why we do it – the head of government emphasized.

According to him, the “gloomy commentary” to these decisions was even the last night in Ukraine. “The war, unfortunately, is gaining momentum. All the illusions of many world leaders that five matches are enough and the war will end only testify to the fact that they do not know Russia and do not know Vladimir Putin,” said Tusk.

He added that “this wand is rolling and will roll.” – And that's why we didn't hesitate and we will continue to do so, whether someone would like it or not. And we will continue to argue Poland and prepare the Polish state for every circumstance so that Poles can feel safe – said the head of government.
