Rosneft supported projects to preserve the nature and traditions of the indigenous peoples of Evenkia

Rosneft subsidiaries – East Siberian Oil and Gas Company and Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz – summed up the results of the grant competition and allocated funds for the implementation of initiatives significant for the Evenki region. Projects aimed at preserving the rich natural and cultural heritage of the territory received support.

Thus, oil workers will support the creation of a reference guide for game and rare birds of Evenkia. For indigenous people, in conditions of remoteness and harsh climate, hunting birds remains an important part of traditional environmental management. At the same time, the region is home to about 40 species of rare birds.

To help maintain their numbers and improve the ecological culture of the population, the guide will be distributed among communities of indigenous peoples. north, educational organizations and regional authorities. The publication will combine scientific data and practical knowledge of the Evenks. Descriptions will include photographs, characteristics and details that make it easy to identify the bird in the field, as well as Evenki names and folk signs associated with each species.

Second grant will support the ethnocultural project “Living Thread of the North”. It is dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia and will bring together information about folklore, crafts and ornamental art of the Evenks. They plan to describe the life, traditions and secrets of the masters in the printed album, and the digital version will become the basis of an educational resource about Evenki culture for young people and anyone interested in the ethnic groups of Eastern Siberia.

Rosneft notes that support for the indigenous peoples of the North, their traditional way of life and cultural traditions remains one of the key areas of the company’s social policy.
