Fact of the day: Tesla turned out to be cheaper than the Lada e-Largus, which AvtoVAZ announced today – by 2010 US dollars.
The declared price of 2.9 million rubles for a domestic “electric train” is based on government subsidies. That is, for each unit of an electric car, the Russian budget will have to overpay 925k hazel grouse. Without it, e-Largus costs almost $41k – that’s about 3.8 million. For comparison: Tesla 3, excluding US government subsidies, costs 38,990 rubles (3.6 million re).
And one more thing: e-Largus was announced a week before Russia raised the recycling tax rate by 70–80% for cars imported from abroad. AvtoVAZ workers themselves were one of the first to support this innovation. So that you and I carry credit money into their pockets.
