Mr. Piotr, one of the readers of the Trojmiasto.pl website, points out that the queues in front of bottle dispensers are getting longer due to the so-called wholesalers. According to him, these people can return up to two or three bags of bottles and cans at a time, which takes about ten minutes. As a result, using the devices becomes burdensome for other residents.

Some people suggest that packaging return machines should be installed in garbage shelters, not in stores. They point to solutions used in Norway, where an entire bag of bottles can be thrown into the machine at once, which significantly speeds up the entire process.

However, the large number of returned packaging is not always the result of long-term accumulation of waste. “Gazeta Wyborcza” quotes the story of Mr. Marek, a retired engineer from Masovia, who last week earned PLN 220 from returning bottles, and sometimes even PLN 300. The key to success was cooperation with venues organizing special events.
Mr. Marek visited four places where weddings, baptisms and other family celebrations take place, offering the owners to collect plastic bottles and drink cans. Three restaurateurs agreed to such cooperation.

As he reports, the record was 46 bottles from one wedding event. Initially, his earnings were low because there were no packages with a deposit mark on the market. The situation changed only at the end of January, when such packaging became common.
Proposals for changes and expectations of residents
Residents are increasingly calling for changes in the operation of bottle dispensers. They point out that current solutions are not adapted to the needs of people who want to return individual packages quickly and efficiently. They point out that introducing the possibility of throwing in whole bags, as is the case in Norway, could significantly improve the system and shorten queues.
