Takeover of Ele Taxi by iTaxi. The company explains the decision
The company's president, Renata Bardecka, announces further steps towards consolidation of the largest markets in the country. “We want to expand more into the largest Polish cities. We will announce our next moves in the coming months,” he emphasizes in an interview with the newspaper.
Although iTaxi became the owner of the over 30-year-old Ele Taxi brand, the integration is to be gradual. Bardecka emphasizes that the company does not intend to immediately eliminate the well-known sign or change the nature of the service.
“Ele Taxi is a brand strongly rooted in the awareness of Warsaw residents. We want the consolidation process to run smoothly and not to affect passenger loyalty” – he explains. Together with Ele Taxi, iTaxi also added the nationwide brand Taxi Polska, present in 29 cities.

Another great iTaxi transaction on the Polish taxi market. The reason is the pressure of global companies
In recent years, the platform has already acquired 16 regional corporationsincluding, among others: Komfort Taxi, AS Taxi, Flash Taxi or Olsztyn Green Taxi. Warsaw's MPT and EcoCar have also joined the portfolio, with a fleet of approximately 300 hybrid and electric vehicles. Thanks to the latest acquisition, the number of iTaxi cars in the capital has doubled, and the company is strengthening its leading position in the corporate services segment.
“This is a strategic step that will allow us to develop a comprehensive mobility offer for business, administration and individual customers. Market transformation is leading us towards electromobility and new infrastructure solutions, and iTaxi wants to be the leader of this change,” says co-investor Łukasz Wejchert.
Growing consolidation is a response to pressure from global platforms — Uber, Bolt and Lyft — and the difficult market situation. According to data from Dun & Bradstreet, the number of taxi companies in Poland dropped below 50,000 for the first time. in 2025 In the first half of the year, only 628 new businesses were registered, while over 1.6 thousand deleted. This is the result of rising costs of doing business and fierce price competition from international players.
According to the president of Ele Taxi, Adam Ruciński, building strong local structures is a necessity today. “Only larger entities are able to really compete in terms of capital and technology with global companies,” he points out.
