Krasnoyarsk doctors introduce lean technologies into their work

6 March 17:10
Specialists from the regional competence center of the Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk Territory shared their experience in implementing lean technologies with colleagues from other departments.
The key developments of the competence center are now actively used by regional healthcare institutions. For example, Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Hospital No. 2 changed the approach to training patients with chronic diseases. Now these are not just lectures, but clearly structured classes. As a result, patients better understand their disease and are less likely to be hospitalized for exacerbations.
Next, at Krasnoyarsk City Clinic No. 7, specialists analyzed the routes of patients undergoing the second stage of clinical examination and reconfigured logistics. Now citizens spend significantly less time on examinations in the hospital.
And specialists at Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Hospital No. 4 have divided the flows when receiving emergency patients: now severe patients immediately go to resuscitators, and those who can wait are treated in an accelerated manner.

The Regional Clinical Hospital also reconfigured the operation of the operating room: they synchronized the work of surgeons, anesthesiologists and junior staff so that the operating room did not stand idle, and patients did not wait for their turn for weeks. The introduction of a just-in-time system made it possible to perform more operations without increasing the number of doctors.
In parallel with this, the hospice of Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Hospital No. 2 optimized sanitary and hygienic care for physically weakened patients. Now procedures are carried out faster, more comfortably and with less staff effort.
“Representatives of departments who attended the meeting admitted that such methods are useful everywhere – in libraries, schools, sports complexes and social security. After all, everywhere has its own “flow of visitors” and “work processes” that can be made simpler and more understandable for the average person,” noted the regional Ministry of Health.
Let us recall that a systematic approach to the implementation of lean technologies in regional medicine began with the pilot project “Lean Clinic”. This experience was scaled up in 2019-2024 as part of the creation of a “New Model of a Medical Organization” and from 2025 it reached a new level as part of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy”.
