The Ministry of National Defense announces on Sunday, in the context of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, that from the data so far, there is no military threat to Romania's territory.

“From the data that the ministry has at this moment, against the background of the evolution of the security situation in Iran, there is no military threat to the national territory,” an official statement reads.

MApN specifies that the Romanian Army has permanently in service forces that ensure the surveillance of the air, naval, land, informational and cyber environments, as well as the detection of threats and the immediate reaction. “Military and civilian specialists are on standby and intervention services every day, 24/7.”

The Army has also “adjusted its posture and measures have been ordered to increase vigilance and prepare systems that complement immediate reaction forces.”

The Deveselu base provides anti-ballistic protection

Moreover, the US naval facility at Deveselu, integrated into the NATO command and control system, provides anti-ballistic protection against emerging threats from outside the Euro-Atlantic area.

The Romanian Ministry of Defense states, at the same time, that it is in permanent contact with the allies and coordinates with them at all levels.
