Sleep is a complex physiological process that plays a huge role in a person’s physical and mental health. If you have short and low-quality sleep, then there can be no talk of any productive work activity or good mood. Experts from the Zen channel “Health and Fitness” (18+) told us what consequences await those who only get enough salt.
Chronic lack of sleep can lead to the following problems:
- impairment of cognitive functions, that is, decreased concentration, memory, and reaction speed. This will negatively affect your work activities;
- weakened immunity;
- increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension;
- metabolic disorders and, as a consequence, weight gain and the development of diabetes;
- depression, anxiety, irritability.
How to improve your sleep quality?
Try to maintain a regular sleep schedule: go to bed and get up at approximately the same time, even if it is the weekend. Create comfortable sleeping conditions for yourself: fresh linens, a comfortable bed, a ventilated room, an air humidifier, silence and darkness. Avoid drinking coffee and alcohol before bed, and do not use gadgets 2 hours before bed. In addition, relaxing rituals will help you fall asleep quickly: taking a warm bath, reading a book, meditation.
