The University of Cluj won its place in the Super League play-off after the categorical victory with Oțelul Galati, score 4-0. Issouf Macalou, Jovo Lukic, Andrei Coubiș and Mouhamadou Drammeh scored for the “red caps”, who finish in the top six of the league with one stage left in the regular season.
This success complicates the situation of the FCSB champion, but makes it easier for “U”, which, regardless of the result of the match at the National Arena, will play in the play-offs.

Gazeta Sporturilor's reporter at the arena in Cluj captured the moments when the University players and staff walked in front of the “Red Bats Lawn” and chanted the famous songs with the fans: “We are the Red Riding Hoods Lawn, we will not forget our ancestors”, “La, la, la, come on U”but also “What a team we have, it makes us drink, beer and wine to celebrate”.
At the same time, at the end of the match, the University gallery also sang the famous anthem of the 70s-80s, hummed only at important matches or at special moments: “In the valley of Someș, there is no team like U”.
The festive atmosphere continued for good minutes in Cluj, the players greeting the supporters in the stands, while Peluza cheered and applauded the team's performance.

Thanks to this success, the University of Cluj reached 51 points after 29 stages, only 5 behind the leader University of Craiova, but with one more match played. For the people of Transylvania, the duel at the National Arena with FCSB follows, a team whose chances of entering the play-offs dropped considerably after the result at the “Cluj Arena”.
To still hope for qualification, FCSB, Transylvania's next opponent, must win both of their remaining matches (with UTA and U Cluj) and, at the same time, be helped by favorable results:

FC Argeș to obtain a maximum of two points from the matches with Dinamo (away) and Unirea Slobozia (home). If the points are equal, the people from Pitesti would have the advantage of the direct results (2-0 and 1-0)

CFR Cluj to get a maximum of one point from the games with Farul Constanța (away) and Dinamo (home). In the event of equal points, the Cluj from Gruia would win the direct matches (2-2 and 4-1).
