The official claims that at the level of the Covasnean club there is no knowledge of possible irregularities in the match complained of by Fadi Haddad, former coach at CS Păulești, who left the team after, according to his statements, he was asked certain things before a match with Sepsi 2.
Laszlo Dioszegi: “I read that there are some teams in the 3rd League that play with bets, but our children certainly don't”
“I don't know anything. Our second team is made up of promising players, 17-18 years oldit is not a problem to enter such games. There is no problem. If there was anything on their part, the boys know nothing.
I read in the newspaper that there are some teams in the 3rd League that play betting, but our children certainly do not. Honestly, we are not interested in the results, but to grow the juniors, to have minutes. Any result would not have been suspected.
In one match the children play well, in the next they don't. They are not constant. We can't even promote, we are in the 2nd League, the second team where to promote? Of course the kids don't know anything, neither do the coaches. We have never had such a thingDioszegi told Gazeta Sporturilor.
Earthquake in Romanian football: 21 people at hearings, 34 searches in the cheating scandal
Romanian police conducted 34 house searches in an investigation into possible match-fixing in League 3. According to the authorities, 21 people were taken for questioning. The clues lead to the CS Păulești club, from Prahova county, information confirmed by GSP.
According to the statement issued by the Police, a network was set up to influence the results in order to obtain profits from sports bets. The descents took place on February 25, and the total amount estimated to have been obtained as a result of these activities amounts to 840,000 lei (approximately 165,000 euros).
Fadi Haddad, former coach of CS Păulești, stated that before a match with Sepsi 2 he was asked “certain things” that were not compatible with his principles.
“Performance was wanted at Păulești. That's why I was brought in. We tried to perform. We had no problems in training or in matches. We trained at a good level and played well. Normally, it can be checked, the team was doing very well.
But in a match with Sepsi I was asked to do certain things that were not compatible with my character and I left. It was the 8th stage”, he told GSP.
