For the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk, the facades of 11 cultural heritage buildings will be repaired

By 2028, in preparation for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk, it is planned to restore the facades of 180 houses located in the historical part of the city and along major main streets along which the so-called guest routes pass. 11 of them are cultural heritage sites, the mayor’s office said.

Work on the first two buildings – on Oborony Street, 2b and Lenina Street, 127 – planned for 2026. The Regional Capital Improvement Fund has already held tenders and identified contractors.

It should be noted that only contractors with a license and special permission can repair the facades of cultural heritage sites.

“Since the law sets a maximum cost for major repairs, regardless of whether the house is a cultural heritage site or not, it cannot be exceeded when preparing design estimates. For a long time, finding such contractors was difficult, since the actual cost of the work exceeded the estimate. To solve the problem, the city has developed a mechanism: the difference in cost will be compensated with a subsidy from the Krasnoyarsk budget. Its recipient will be the regional capital repair fund,” the administration explained.

Let us remind you that the façade is a common property of the building. All decisions regarding its repair and overhaul, regardless of the historical status of the house, are made by the owners of the premises in the house. Major repairs of the facade are carried out as part of planned work; the timing of their implementation for each house is determined by the regional program.
