Schalke 04 took an image hit with the transfer of Edin Dzeko. The 39-year-old striker, who arrived on a free from Fiorentina, has signed with the 2. Bundesliga leaders until the summer, when he has an option to extend his deal by a season. In the first 20 minutes after the official announcement, fans of the team in Gelsenkirchen ordered 1,200 shirts with the number 10 chosen by the Bosnian international.
He hasn't landed well in Germany either, and Schalke 04 supporters are already showing their attraction to Edin Dzeko, who they expect to score the first goal. Every step of the new superstar, from the airport and the medical visit to the press conference, Royal Blues fans followed him everywhere.

Last year, Dzeko was Romania's opponent in the World Cup qualifiers, starting in both games, managing to score in Bosnia's 3-1 victory in the second match of the campaign.

The transfer to Schalke will mark Dzeko's second experience in German football, after his time at Wolfsburg, club for which he played in the period 2007-2011. Throughout his career, the Bosnian also played for Teplice, Manchester City, AS Roma, Inter and Fiorentina.
With Manchester City, Edin Dzeko won two Premier League titles and was one of the big men in the Citizens' early days of domestic dominance.
