The priest's illegalities came to light when the inspectors from the Jiu Craiova Water Directorate received information that an illegal trout farm was operating in the area. The priest, when he decided to establish this trout farm, did not obtain any approval from the Jiu Water Management Service, and this trout farm is currently operating illegally.
The illegalities did not stop there, say those from the Water Department. The priest also uses water from Gioroc stream, from Dolj county. It has changed the course of the water and is now reaching this trout.
“The person in question built a dam on the Gioroc watercourse, blocking and directing the water to personal property, an intervention carried out without holding a water management permit”according to Romanian Waters Jiu.
The priest was fined 10,000 lei and the people from the Jiu Waters Department asked him to bring everything back to the original shape that this area had before establishing this trout farm.
Asked by reporters about this situation, the priest replied that he did not know that he needed approvals for “to throw two fish into this trout'' writes Digi24.
