Northern Military District veterans from Siberia and the Far East will play backgammon in Krasnoyarsk

The Siberian and Far East Cup of backgammon for Northern Military District veterans will be held in Krasnoyarsk. The event will take place on February 25 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Molokova Street, the regional Ministry of Sports reported.

The tournament, entitled “Cup of Defenders of the Fatherland,” will be attended by 56 athletes representing the Krasnoyarsk, Kamchatka, Primorsky, Khabarovsk and Altai territories, the Jewish Autonomous, Magadan, Sakhalin, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk and Omsk regions, the Republics of Altai, Tyva and Khakassia.

Competition program:

• 09:30 to 12:00 – 1-4 rounds;
• 12:15 to 13:00 – opening ceremony;
• 14:15 to 17:45 – rounds 5-7, play-offs;
• 19:00 – awards ceremony.

The ministry noted that the competitions are held with the aim of popularizing the intellectual game, involving veterans of the Northern Military District in sports and strengthening friendship between Russian regions.

Let us remind you that in the Krasnoyarsk Territory there are many support measures for participants in a special military operation and their families: payments, benefits for housing and communal services, emergency places in kindergartens and free meals for children in schools. Also, the “Siberian Character” personnel program is being implemented for soldiers and veterans of the Northern Military District, within the framework of which veterans undergo retraining.
