Discussions revealed similar views in several key areas. Zelenski informed Mark Rutte about the preparations for the next trilateral format of talks with the United States of America and Russia, as well as about possible changes in the positions of the parties involved.
Another important topic concerned the situation in the energy sector, but also the need to continue efforts within the PURL initiative, through which European states contribute to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed his gratitude to the European countries that invest in the defense of Ukraine through this mechanism and thanked the NATO Secretary General for his support, noting the importance of continuous cooperation in the current security context.
“We covered all the key aspects of our diplomatic work and I am glad that in many areas our views coincide. I gave him the latest news on preparations for the next trilateral format with the United States and Russia, as well as what we know about possible changes in the positions of the parties. We also discussed the energy situation and the need to continue work under the PURL initiative. I am grateful to all European countries who invest in our defense through PURL. Thank you, Mark, for your support!”, wrote Zelensky on X.
