During the evacuation from Kyiv before the war, the CIA left the SBU a “parting gift” – The Guardian

The publication recalled how, against the background of the Russian threat, some countries began to evacuate their diplomats from Ukraine. Then, by mid-February, the British, American and some other embassies moved their staff from Kyiv, destroying important equipment before leaving.

According to The Guardian, the CIA office retreated to a secret base in western Ukraine, leaving the SBU with several shoulder-launched anti-tank missiles.

Even many European countries have reduced their presence in the Ukrainian capital to a minimum staff. Just in case, they developed their own plans to evacuate their workers. Great Britain did not limit itself to the withdrawal of its diplomats from Kyiv. In London, key Ministry of Defense employees moved into hotels near the Ministry's headquarters so that if necessary, they could arrive at work in a matter of minutes, the article says.
