The editors of the Ukrainian culinary website Shuba shared a recipe for cooking chicken liver in honey-soy sauce, which will give the dish a delicate texture and juiciness.
Ingredients:
- 600 g chicken liver;
- three cloves of garlic;
- 1 tbsp. l. corn starch.
Ingredients for the sauce:
- 5 tbsp. l. soy sauce;
- 2 tsp. honey;
- two glasses of tomato juice;
- 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- 80 ml water;
- salt and pepper to taste.
Preparation
- Cut off the membranes, fat and bile from the liver. Rinse it and place it in a colander to drain excess liquid.
- Place the liver in a bowl, pour in 1 tbsp. l. soy sauce and add 1 tbsp. l. starch. Pass the garlic through a press, add to the liver, stir and leave for 20 minutes.
- Combine soy and tomato sauces, honey, water, ground pepper and salt. Place over moderate heat and cook for one to two minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and add the liver. Fry for one to two minutes on both sides.
- Then pour the sauce evenly over the liver, cover and simmer for five minutes. During this time, turn the liver over several times.
- Next, remove the lid and simmer for a few more minutes so that some of the liquid evaporates and the sauce thickens.
