In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced the results of the Peace Council meeting scheduled for Thursday in Washington.

“On February 19, 2026, I will meet again with members of the Peace Council at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., where we will announce that Member States have pledged over $5 BILLION for humanitarian assistance and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and have committed thousands of people to the International Stabilization Force and Local Police to maintain security and peace for the people of the Gaza Strip,” Trump wrote. He also stressed that Palestinian Hamas must fulfill its obligations and disarm.

The US president announced that the potential of the new organization established in January is “unlimited” and that it will become “the most significant international institution in history.”

Thursday meeting of the Peace Council, at which countries are to announce their contribution to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, will be one of the first official acts of this organization. However, it is not yet clear who will attend the meeting. The leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, announced that his country would be represented by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Although most European countries have not yet joined the organization – exceptions include, among others: Hungary, Albania and Bulgaria – the leaders have announced their participation as an observer in recent days Romania, Italy and Cyprus.
