CBS added that two months later, support for Israeli attacks began to be discussed at high levels within the US military and intelligence services.

“American considerations focused less on whether Israel could take action and more on how the United States could help, including providing air fuel for Israeli planes and the delicate issue of obtaining overflight approval from countries along a potential attack route,” the television station reported. So far, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have said they will not allow their airspace to be used to attack Iran.

The next round of talks with Iran is scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Geneva. There are large differences between the parties' positions, including: on the scope of a possible agreement. The Iranian authorities announced that they would agree to talks only regarding the nuclear program, while offering only partial restrictions. The Trump administration has signaled that it wants to completely exclude the regime's ability to enrich uranium. Israel demands that the agreement also covers Iran's missile program and Tehran's support for allied militias in the Middle East, including Hamas and Hezbollah.

On Friday, President Trump said that Iran was causing difficulties in talks and said that regime change in Tehran would be the best solution to the problem. The West fears that Iran is seeking to produce nuclear weapons.
