Plant these 3 perennials in a flowerbed – they will bloom all summer: stick it in and forget it

If you want to decorate your area with flowers that do not require annual replanting and at the same time delight you with abundant flowering from June to September, pay attention to proven perennials. They can be planted directly into the ground – they take root easily, are not afraid of rain and drought, and maintenance is kept to a minimum.

Lavender angustifolia

This aromatic shrub grows well in sunny areas with light, well-drained soil. Lavender does not like stagnant water, so it is better to plant it on a hill or add sand to the planting hole. It blooms from July to August, attracts bees and repels moths. After flowering, it is enough to trim the inflorescences – the bush will retain its neat shape until next year.

Rudbeckia dissectifolia

A tall but resilient perennial with bright yellow daisy-like flowers. Blooms from June until frost. Rudbeckia is not afraid of heat, rarely gets sick and looks great both in single plantings and in mixed borders. Watering once a week is enough for her in severe drought. You don’t have to remove the above-ground part for the winter – it protects the roots from freezing.

Oak sage

A low-growing, compact bush with purple or blue inflorescences that blooms in waves all summer. Sage loves sun but tolerates light partial shade. After the first wave of flowering, it is enough to trim the plant by a third; after two weeks it will be covered with flowers again. Drought resistant and does not attract slugs.

These three plants do not require frequent watering, do not need fertilizing every two weeks and do not lose their decorative appearance even in the hottest month. Plant them once and your flowerbed will bloom effortlessly for several years in a row.
