Daniel Obajtek openly admits to nepotism. There is a reaction from Orlen

Daniel Obajtek, in an interview with Zero.pl, was asked about employing his friends in State Treasury companies. This includes: about the case of Zofia Paryła, an accountant from Pcim (Lesser Poland Voivodeship), who became the president of Lotos, or Elżbieta Bugaj, the wife of his partner, who became the president of Energa Obrót, and later PGNiG Termika in the Orlen Group.
“As president, I was responsible for the functioning of the company and I had the right to choose people. People I trusted. Now I do the same and I suspect I'm not the only one,” replies the former president of Orlen. Obajtek directly admits that his actions can be called “nepotism or cronyism.” He explains it by “the desire to work with those whose competences he is confident in.”
