On Thursday, President Nicusor Dan signed the decree for the retirement of Judge Ionela Tudor from the Bucharest Court of Appeal. She retires as of February 15, informs the Presidential Administration.
Judge Tudor, aged 51, obtained the decision to retire as early as 2023, prior to the entry into force of the changes that limited the pension to not be higher than the last net salary received, according to the decision of the Superior Council of Magistracy by which the retirement was approved.
What pension will he receive?
According to the data published by the Court, in September 2025, the gross salary of the two vice-presidents of the court was 37,847 lei and 36,391 lei, respectively. The two vice-presidents of the court benefited from three increases: 300 lei for difficult working conditions, 6,978 respectively 6,698 for non-psychological overload and 1,456 lei, respectively 1,400 lei for maintaining confidentiality.
The salaries of CAB employees are published twice a year, as provided for by the rules in force, indicating the positions, employment allowances and increments received.
A simple calculation, based on the salaries indicated by the CAB and the provisions regarding retirement, retained by the CSM in the case of judge Ionela Tudor, shows that the former vice-president of the Bucharest Court of Appeal will receive a monthly pension of approximately 30,000 lei, i.e. 6,000 euros, monthly.
Famous for “Lia called me” moment

The memorable moment that had Judge Ionela Tudor in the center of attention took place on December 11, 2025, when the Bucharest Court of Appeal organized an extraordinary press conference, called after the appearance of the Recorder documentary “Captured Justice”. The event was a first for the institution and took place in a courtroom.
Then, President Liana Arsenie, while trying to answer a question, Vice President Ionela Tudor looked into her mobile phone, after which she leaned towards Liana Arsenie and whispered: “I called… Lia called me, I'm going to talk” and left the presidium where the press statements were made. He returned after a short time and showed Arsenie the phone screen, reading what was written there: “It is excluded that… it is excluded that Predoiu intervened. He did not suggest it.” The moment was reported by Recorder journalists.
