PGNiG – the brand under which natural gas was supplied to approximately 7 million customers – was replaced by Orlen, and PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny changed its name to myOrlen. On Tuesday, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) approved a new gas tariff for myOrlen, the largest retailer. The price of gas will drop by 3.4%. and will amount to PLN 197.29 per MWh net.

This is good news for recipients, especially since January brought record electricity and gas bills to Poles. The high costs are the result of unprecedented frosts, which significantly increased the consumption of electricity and gas fuels.
The new myOrlen tariff applies to households and public utility entities that can benefit from regulated gas prices in accordance with the applicable law.
As reported by the Energy Regulatory Office, the reduced price will be valid from February 25 to June 30, 2026. At the same time, subscription fees on your gas bill will remain unchanged.
Gas prices are falling
The tariff drop is the result of the regulator's request to submit an application for a price change by myOrlen. This decision was made in connection with the decline in gas prices observed on the Polish Power Exchange since the first half of 2025.
“The Energy Regulatory Office constantly monitors the price level on the market. Taking into account the systematic decline in gas fuel prices after the approval of the PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny tariff, I called on myOrlen to submit an application for a tariff change. This resulted in the recently approved price reduction,” comments the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Renata Mroczek.
According to Orlen's data domestic gas consumption in January reached 2.88 billion cubic meters.while in the corresponding period of 2025 it was 2.26 billion cubic meters. This means an increase of over 27%. during the year.

Orlen instead of PGNiG
On January 27, 2024, the PGNiG brand was officially replaced by Orlen, and PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny changed its name to myOrlen.
myOrlen (formerly PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny) has been part of the Orlen Group for several years. The company emphasizes that unifying the brand and changing the name is a natural stage of the company's development.
During the PiS government, Orlen decided to build a multi-energy company. For this purpose, he took control of Energa, and later also Lotos and PGNiG. Three years ago, PGNiG ceased to be listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
