If you've gained a few extra pounds over the winter, now is the time to think about how and when to lose them. It is important for every woman to have time to lose excess weight by summer. Nutritionist Antonina Tsvinaria told us when and how to start losing weight in the warmer months.

The expert notes that the best time to lose weight is end of winter – beginning of spring. During this period, activity increases, cravings for high-calorie foods decrease, fresh vegetables and fruits are more accessible. A safe rate of weight loss is from 0.5 to 1 kilogram per week or 2-4 kilograms per month, Tsvinaria said in an interview with RIA Novosti (18+).

The expert advises using the effect of consistency in losing weight, that is, starting your meal with vegetables, then moving on to proteins, and finally to carbohydrates.

“This sequence reduces glucose spikes and reduces appetite,” explained the nutritionist.

In addition, the specialist recommended reconsidering your plate. Half the volume should be vegetables and one-fourth each should be proteins and complex carbohydrates. Also, for weight loss, it is important to remove hidden snacks, coffee with syrups, and soda.
