Residents of Zhytomyr complain: you come with a referral for an MRI from your doctor – at the regional hospital named after They say to O. F. Gerbachevsky: “We accept referrals only from our doctors!” As a result: sent for re-examination, recorded for MRI again, NSHU pays for one examination twice. Patients say: “their” doctors can even help them bypass the queue for money.
As previously reported by Zhytomyr.info, at the beginning of July 2023 in Zhytomyr Regional Clinical Hospital named after O.F. Gerbachevsky's MRI machine exploded during repair work: the law enforcement officers began an inspection, and Philips representatives were waiting at the hospital, who, after the examination, were supposed to determine the degree of damage to the machine and the amount of damages.
Later, the head of the regional hospital, Bohdan Leskiv, said that the subcontractor, whose employees damaged the MRI machine, would pay for the repair and examination of the device. For several months, the hospital tried to hold a tender for the repair of the device for almost UAH 3 million. In July of this year, a new MRI machine was put into operation at the hospital. It costs about 1 million euros and is given to the hospital free of charge.
