The extraordinary event in Craiova therefore offers another opportunity to meet these works before the end of their sale in auction scheduled for February 17.

We remind you that this collection, made in about ten years, including purchases from important international auctions, also includes a work by Pablo Picasso, “Bullfight Scene” (1959)which marks a historic moment for the domestic art market: it is the first work by Picasso that will be traded at an auction in Romania. This Picasso has a starting price of only 8,000 Euros in the Artmark auction!

The exhibition in Craiova also brings back to the public's attention masterpieces of Romanian art, including canvases signed by Nicolae Grigorescu and of Nicholas Tonitza — canonical artists of the national heritage, as well as of Cornelius Baba, Eustaciu Stoenescu and Spirul Vergulescu — names with a strong local resonance.
