China has a new stance on the Iran conflict. “One cold day is not enough to form a one meter layer of ice”

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday that he hoped the parties involved in the conflict in Iran would remain committed to efforts to reach a truce and continue on the path of compromise so that they could meet in the middle, writes Reuters.
Tehran claimed on Tuesday that Washington violated the ceasefire after the US carried out what it described as “self-defense strikes” in southern Iran, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that negotiating a deal to end the conflict would “take several days”.
“We hope that the parties involved will remain committed to efforts to reach a truce and continue on the path of meeting in the middle so that peace can be restored in the Middle East as soon as possible,” Wang told reporters at United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York after presiding over a meeting of the 15-member Security Council.
“As I said before, one cold day is not enough to form a one-meter layer of ice, and long-term problems cannot be solved overnight,” Wang added.
“However, every step forward in the negotiations brings more hope for peace, and if the conflict ends even a day earlier, then the less civilian casualties there will be,” the Chinese foreign minister added.
