A 64-year-old teacher was detained on Saturday after the mother of a student complained that her 13-year-old daughter was kissed by the teacher. The incident took place in the school hallway.
“On January 30, 2026, the police officers of the Stâlpeni Rural Police Department were alerted by a woman from the Dârmanesti commune regarding the fact that her 13-year-old daughter, a student at an educational institution in the same locality, had been the victim of acts of a sexual nature,” announces IPJ Argeş, quoted by News.ro.
The checks carried out showed that, on January 29, at around 10:30 a.m., while in the hallway of the secondary school in Dârmăneşti commune, a 64-year-old teacher allegedly kissed the minor on the cheeks and lips.
In the case, the police opened a criminal case for sexual assault on a minor.
On Saturday, following the checks carried out by the police, the man was detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Câmpulung Court with a proposal to take a preventive measure.
“Investigations are continued under the coordination of the prosecutor's office, in order to establish all the circumstances in which the act was committed and to arrange the legal measures that are required”, states IPJ Argeş.
