Claudiu Rotar, the financier of the FC Hermannstadt club, revealed that defender Kevin Ciubotaru (21 years old) was close to a transfer to Dinamo in 2023.
The Rome-born footballer spent his career at Ciampino Giovanili (Italy), Rapid Vienna, Austria XIII, Admira, TWL Elektra, Parma, Kinetic Academy (juniors) and Glasgow Rangers B before signing for FC Hermannstadt in 2023.
In September 2024, he was loaned to Unirea Ungheni, and this season he returned to Sibiu and managed to make his debut in Romania's first national team, in the friendly with Moldova, score 2-1.
Kevin Ciubotaru was close to Dinamo
“It was in the yard at Dinamo, but we moved faster than them. We were also insolvent then, not just Dinamo. So it didn't matter, I just think they slept more than they should have (no laughs).
Even at Dinamo, not all the footballers they have can play, and then they think about how they can make them evolve more. That mattered,” said Rotar, according to digisport.ro.
Listed by Transfermarkt at €150,000, the left-back has played in 11 games for FC Hermannstadt this season and registered one assist.
