The weather will cool significantly across the country on Saturday and Sunday, when sleet and snow are expected. The temperatures will be frosty, especially in the morning, and in some areas the minimums will even reach -20 degrees, according to the forecast issued by meteorologists.
According to ANM, on Saturday, January 31, the weather will become particularly cold, especially at night, especially in the eastern regions, where there will be local frost in Moldova and isolated in eastern Transylvania and Dobrogea. The sky will be more cloudy and there will be temporary local low precipitation, in the form of snow in the mountains and in the north of Moldova, mainly rain in Banat and Crișana and mixed in Transylvania, Oltenia and Muntenia.
The wind will blow weak and moderate, with temporary intensifications in the eastern and southern regions, with speeds of 40…60 km/h. The maximum temperatures will fall between -10 degrees in the north of Moldova and 7 degrees in the south of Banat, and the minimum temperatures will generally be between -14 and 0 degrees. Fog and dust will form over small areas.
And in Bucharest the weather will get colder. The sky will be cloudy and transient in the first part of the day there will be light mixed precipitation. The wind will blow weak and moderate, with intensification at night, when gusts will reach speeds of 30…40 km/h. The maximum temperature will be around 1 degree, and the minimum will be -6…-5 degrees.

On Sunday, February 1, the weather will be particularly cold especially in the extra-Carpathian regions, frosty in the morning and at night in Moldova, Dobrogea, eastern Transylvania and locally in Muntenia, and in the northern half of Moldova the frost will persist throughout the day. The sky will be variable in the east of the country and more cloudy in the rest and temporarily there will be light precipitation.
During the day in small areas in the south-west and in the related mountain area it will snow, and in the west there will be mixed precipitation, and at night it will snow locally in the west and in the south. The wind will blow weak and moderate, with intensifications in the south-eastern half of the country and in the south of Banat, with speeds of 40…60 km/h, temporarily blowing snow.
The maximum temperatures will fall between -14 and 6 degrees, and the minimum generally between -20 and 0 degrees. In the morning and at night, in some places there will be fog with sleet.
And in Bucharest the weather will continue to cool, so the maximum temperature will be -2…-1 degree. The sky will be temporarily cloudy, and light snow will be possible at night. The wind will intensify, with gust speeds of up to 40…50 km/h, amplifying the feeling of cold. The minimum temperature will be around -9 degrees.
