Therapy dogs will again appear in the departure area of Krasnoyarsk airport to help passengers cope with anxiety before a flight.
As reported by gornovosti.ru, the airport announced the resumption of the “Emotional Support Dog” project. This will be the third wave of the program that the airport is implementing together with the Povodog animal shelter.
In 2021 and 2024, friendly dogs looking for owners “worked” on the third floor in the departure area. Passengers could pet them, play with them, or just chat with them to reduce anxiety. For the shelter's residents, this often became a chance to find a family: over the previous two seasons, 37 dogs found new owners right at the airport.
Currently, this project is nominated for the international award “My Tender and Necessary Animal.”
