Krasnoyarsk residents began to more often choose more powerful power banks for charging equipment

The Russians have replaced compact accessories with super-capacity power banks.
At the end of 2025, in the combined retail network of MegaFon and Yota, sales of devices with a capacity of 60,000 mAh, capable of charging both a smartphone and a laptop, increased by 52%. Additionally, in the power bank segment, demand for 30,000 mAh models increased by 51% and 40,000 mAh by 34%.
The most popular in the past year were universal power banks with a capacity of 10,000 mAh – they accounted for 42% of all sales. They take up less space and provide several charging cycles for the smartphone. At the same time, in 2024 the rating was headed by compact models with only 5,000 mAh.
Capacity is a key indicator of the energy potential of an external battery, expressed in milliamp-hours (mAh). It determines how many times the device can be charged.

“Power banks are no longer perceived as a safety net until the evening; now they are full-fledged mobile stations necessary for remote work and long trips. The leaders in demand in 2025 were devices under our Stellarway brand, accounting for 76% of sales in the external battery category. We have expanded the brand’s line by adding compact power banks with a capacity of 20,000 and 30,000 mAh, capable of charging both smartphones and laptops,” said Vadim Zimin, director of the department for strategy and sales development at MegaFon.
Demand for autonomy devices has traditionally increased during the holiday season. In 2025, sales peaked in May and the summer months. The highest sales dynamics year-on-year were shown by Dagestan (an increase of 108%), and the regions of the Far East are also in the lead, which is probably due to the need to stay in touch on long trips. In the Magadan region, sales increased by 54%, in the Kamchatka region – by 52%, and in the Trans-Baikal region – by 39%.
The demand for mobility and autonomy has also affected other categories of electronics. Along with external batteries, full-size wireless headphones showed significant growth – their sales almost tripled over the year (2.9 times). In addition, parents are 28% more likely to purchase children's tablets. In the last quarter of 2025, demand for portable speakers increased significantly (+87% compared to the first quarter). In the segment of wearable gadgets, buyer interest in children's watches increased by 69%, smart watches began to be purchased 67% more actively, and smart bracelets – by 51%.
