Rostelecom, together with the Social Fund of Russia (SFR), summed up the results of the XI All-Russian competition of personal achievements of pensioners in the field of computer literacy “Thanks to the Internet – 2025”. 5,675 pensioners from 79 regions of the country took part in it, including from the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The winners were determined in several categories. Thus, in the category “My public Internet initiative” the first place was taken by Vasily Pechenegin from the village of Idrinskoye. He implemented a project to build a memorial to the border guard soldiers of the Idri region, actively using email, social networks and instant messengers.

“It’s very convenient to use email. There is no need to go anywhere. For example, if you don’t like the sketch of the memorial for some reason, you can choose another one or correct it. Without the Internet, I would have spent more effort, time and money,” shared the winner of the “Thank you to the Internet – 2025” competition in the “My Public Internet Initiative” category, Vasily Pechenegin.

In the special category “Russian IT services and developments (author’s teaching methods)”, Vladimir Trushin, an employee of the Integrated Center for Social Services for the Population, from the village of Shushenskoye, won. His educational program was highly appreciated by fellow teachers who have practical experience working with older people.

“My “Smart Home for the Elderly Generation” methodology is aimed at the gradual and visual development of digital technologies that increase the safety and comfort of living. The training is structured taking into account age characteristics, practical orientation and accessibility, which allows students to confidently apply the acquired knowledge in everyday life,” said Vladimir Trushin, winner of the “Thank you to the Internet – 2025” competition in the category “Russian IT services and developments (author’s teaching methods).”

Rostelecom employees presented smartphones to the winners. Special attention was paid to the oldest participants. For example, Krasnoyarsk resident Valentina Yudina, who turned 91, was given a comfortable bag with corporate symbols. At her advanced age, she is actively involved in theatrical creativity and attends computer literacy courses.

“I’m happy that I’m still interested in this life, that I can learn, learn, and overcome difficulties. With the advent of the Internet and the new touch phone, I was not left behind. It turned out that it was not so easy to master this new “science” for me. However, the more difficult, the more tempting: you restructure your thinking to the new, unknown,” shared Valentina Yudina, a participant in the “Thanks to the Internet – 2025” competition.

“This year, the Krasnoyarsk Territory entered the top 10 of the country in terms of the number of participants in the competition – 131 works were submitted. Each of them is someone’s life story, someone’s path to mastering digital technologies. I am proud of my fellow countrymen, whose actions inspire and demonstrate fortitude, talent and self-confidence,” summed up the director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom, Alexey Usatov.
