“This is what you get..” Medvedev responded to Macron’s words about 6 thousand French troops in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron said France could send up to 6 thousand troops to Ukraine if a truce is reached in Ukraine, Le Monde wrote.

Medvedev responded by saying that the authorities of the countries supporting Ukraine “still want war in Europe.”

“It has already been said a thousand times: the Russian Federation will not accept any European or NATO troops in Ukraine,” he wrote.

The Russian official used offensive language, calling EU politicians “stupid” and changed the name of the French president from Macron to “Mikron”.

At the end, he moved on to a direct threat: “Well, come on. This is what you get…” and posted a video that, according to the network, recorded the strike of the Russian Oreshnik ballistic missile on Lviv on the night of January 9.

Context

On January 6, Ukraine, France and Great Britain signed a declaration of intent for the upcoming deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after the end of the war.

Participants in the “coalition of the willing” meeting, in particular, agreed on material and military support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will be the first line of defense to deter potential Russian aggression. The number of Armed Forces of Ukraine will be 800 thousand military personnel.

In March 2025 The Times citing sources, it was reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced plans to send more than 10 thousand military personnel from the country as part of a Western peacekeeping contingent of 64 thousand people.
