The president of the Brazilian Football Federation, Samir Chaud, hinted that the national coach, Carlo Ancelotti (66 years old), has already accepted the extension of his contract.

The Italian took charge of Brazil's national team less than a year ago and his contract expires at the end of this summer's World Cup, but the football federation wants to keep him. The federation president revealed that talks over the extension are in full swing and it is wanted to be signed by the Italian before this summer's World Cup.

Samir Chaud: “Talks to extend Carlo Ancelotti's contract are already underway”

“Discussions are already underway and both parties are interested. We are making some bureaucratic changes to continue our collaboration.

The contract extension before the start of the 2026 World Cup is very important for Brazilian football. I have always said that I believe in medium and long-term projects and in structured work.

Ancelotti has proven his qualities and competence in a short time, both as a coach and as a man. It's perfect for Brazil's national team and the Brazilian Football Federation.

We want to continue together and give him more time to dedicate himself to Brazilian football”, commented Samir Chaud, according to sportal.bg.

Since taking the helm of the “Carioca” national team, Ancelotti has ticked off a total of eight matches on the bench for Brazil (official + friendlies), during which he recorded four wins, two draws and two defeats.

Throughout his impressive career, the Italian technician has won no less than 5 Champions Leagues, 3 with Real Madrid and two with AC Milan.
