“Peace efforts? Trilateral meeting in the UAE? Diplomacy? For Ukrainians, it was another night of Russian terror,” the minister wrote. “Cynically, [нелегитимный российский президент Владимир] “Putin ordered a brutal, massive missile attack on Ukraine just as delegations are meeting in Abu Dhabi to advance the US-led peace process.”
As Sibiga noted, Putin’s missiles hit not only the Ukrainian people, “but also the negotiating table.”
“The two largest cities – Kyiv and Kharkov – were shaken by loud explosions. Dozens of ballistic and aeroballistic missiles, as well as hundreds of drones, were used. The main targets remained the same: energy facilities and residential areas. Russia continues to wage a genocidal war against the civilian population, committing war crimes and crimes against humanity,” the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
Sibiga said the Russian attack in Kyiv killed one person and injured at least four others, while in Kharkov a maternity hospital, a hostel for internally displaced people and a hospital were damaged, leading to civilian casualties.
“The northernmost regional center – Chernigov – was left without electricity after the attacks. This barbaric attack once again proves that Putin’s place is not in the Peace Council, but in the dock of a special tribunal,” said the Ukrainian minister.
At the same time, Sibiga expressed gratitude for the “incredible effectiveness” of Ukraine’s air defense, Ukrainian energy workers who are restoring damaged infrastructure, as well as partners who are strengthening Ukraine’s resilience with additional interceptors and energy equipment.
