US President Donald Trump withdrew his invitation to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to join the Peace Council on the night from Thursday to Friday. He did not provide a reason for this decision.

“Dear Prime Minister Carney: I hereby inform you that the Peace Council is withdrawing its invitation to you for Canada to join the most prestigious Leadership Council ever established. Thank you for your attention!” – Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, Carney said, among other things, that the old world order is breaking down, superpowers are using economic integration as a weapon, and the tendency of some countries to adapt to the requirements of stronger countries is becoming more and more visible. However, he emphasized that medium-sized countries are not powerless and can create alliances. The Canadian's speech received wide coverage in the world media.
Trump inaugurated the Peace Council on Thursday in Davos. He explained that this is a body that is supposed to cooperate with the UN in resolving conflicts in the world.
On Sunday, Carney confirmed that the US president had asked him to join this institution. He also noted that his country would not pay for a permanent seat on the Peace Council, which, according to unofficial information, will cost over $1 billion.
