In a letter sent to members of Poland 2050, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz proposed that in the face of the party's systemic crisis, she and Paulina Hennig-Kloska should become co-chairs – the group's press office told PAP.

“Wirtualna Polska” informed on Monday morning about the list of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy and the vice-chairman of Poland 2050, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, sent to activists of Poland 2050, in which she proposed that the co-chairmanship of the party should be taken by herself and the Minister of Climate and Environment, the vice-chairman of the party, Paulina Hennig-Kloska. Information about Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's letter to the group's members was confirmed to PAP by the Polski 2050 press office.
According to the information provided, Pełczyńska-Nałęcz proposed in a letter to the party's members that the decision on the rules for electing the party chairman and the date of the second round should be made by the National Congress, bringing together regional leaders, which is also the highest authority of Poland 2050.
According to the office, Pełczyńska-Nałęcz proposed in her letter that in response to the ongoing systemic crisis of the party, she and Paulina Hennig-Kloska should become co-chairmen of Poland 2050. Such a solution – in Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's opinion – would have a chance to “glue two political camps in the party.”
According to another PAP source, Paulina Hennig-Kloska also sent a letter to activists.
The National Council of Poland 2050 met on Friday evening, January 16, due to the invalidation of the second round of elections for the new chairman of the group last Monday. The National Council was to decide whether to repeat the entire electoral process or only the second round. In the second round, the candidates for the position of party leader were Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, and Paulina Hennig-Kloska, head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment. Due to technical problems, last Monday's remote voting was canceled and party representatives announced that they would notify the Internal Security Agency and the National Prosecutor's Office.
However, the meeting organized on Friday was interrupted. It is scheduled to resume today at 18. (PAP)
