The Krasnoyarsk woman will be tried on charges of stealing 1.3 million rubles from her employers’ apartment.
The crime was committed last fall. A 53-year-old man contacted the police and reported that his wife’s gold rings and mink coat were missing.
“Law enforcement officers found out that in addition to the spouses, a nanny was in their apartment every day, whom they hired for their children through an advertisement on the Internet back in 2023. She came under suspicion. During the investigation, it was established that at the end of September 2025, a 39-year-old woman took a fur coat and a gold ring lying on the safe from the closet, and then took the stolen items to a pawnshop. Thinking that the owners had not noticed the loss, in early October she stole two more gold rings from the box and also handed them over to a thrift store. The woman spent the proceeds for personal needs,” said the Krasnoyarskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The total material damage for the victims amounted to 1.3 million rubles. The police found the stolen property, seized it and returned it to the owners.
A criminal case was initiated and investigated against the attacker under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft committed on a large scale.” Currently, the materials have been sent to the court for a decision. The defendant can be punished a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles, or forced labor for a term of up to 5 years, or imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years or six years.
