Christians celebrate the source of healing on Friday, in the enlightened week, when in all the churches there are serves of water sanctification. From a historical point of view, the source of healing, a feast dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Saint Mary, reminds us of a miracle, writes Agerpres.
The source of healing is a great feast dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It has no fixed date, being passed in the calendar on Friday of the Luminated Week.
The holiday reminds of a miracle spent near Constantinople. According to tradition, the Mother of the Lord discovered to Emperor Leon the Great (457 – 474), before his climb on the throne, a source of healing water.
Emperor Leon, going through a forest, met an injured blind man who was looking for his way. Leon took him by the hand to lead him, but at the request of the blind man, he left to look. Not finding, he heard the voice of the Virgin Mary, who indicated the place where he will find water to quench the thirst for the blind and to anoint your eyes devoid of view. Following what heard, Leon found the spring, which proved to be a healing. The blind man has not only struck his thirst, but also regained his vision. After reaching the emperor, Leon raised a church in that place, and many patients have been cured with the water of that spring.
This holiday dedicated to the Virgin Mary also reminds of Good Friday. The Most Holy Birth of God, who then shed tears near the Savior's cross, is shown as a source of hope and healing.
On this day, in all the churches are celebrated water sanctification services – the small agheasma.
