The Ministry of Energy of Russia and En+ fulfilled the dream of a Chelyabinsk schoolchild who left a ball on the “Wish Tree” with a request to visit the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station.
The ball with this wish was removed from the tree by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev. The En+ company supported this initiative and invited 11-year-old Georgy and his mother to Divnogorsk.
“George discovers the world of energy with great interest. Personal acquaintance with the work of a unique energy facility became an important and inspiring event for him. The excursion made it possible to see how the complex infrastructure on which the energy supply of the regions depends functions, and further strengthened interest in the profession,” said En+ representatives.
During the excursion, Georgy was told about how the hydroelectric power station works, what role it plays in providing the region with energy, and what modern technologies are used at the facility. The boy saw the operation of turbines, learned how water energy is converted into electricity and transmitted further along high-voltage power lines.
“The Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station is the “pearl” of Russian energy, and is one of the greatest engineering achievements of the 20th century. The station, located on the Yenisei River, is the second most powerful in Russia. The uniqueness of the structure is emphasized by the presence of the only ship lift in the country designed to transport ships across the crest of the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Station dam. “For our team, this is an opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream and show our pride – the Krasnoyarsk HPP,” said Dmitry Pavshin, chief engineer of the Krasnoyarsk HPP.
After the excursion, Georgy told Sergei Tsivilev about his emotions and thanked him for fulfilling his dream and the opportunity to see great energy with his own eyes.
“Becoming an engineer is a good goal. I hope you have a memorable visit to the station. Perhaps it will influence your choice of future profession, and you will come to work in the energy sector,” noted Sergei Tsivilev.
After the excursion, Georgy and his mother arrived at the Yenisei embankment to the En+ New Year tree. Santa Claus was already waiting for them there with gifts.
“We would be very happy to come to the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station again with the whole family, so that together we can feel all the power and energy of this place,” Georgiy’s mother Evgenia Valentinovna shared her impressions of the trip.
Let us remind you that “Wish Tree” is an all-Russian charity event whose goal is to fulfill the New Year’s dreams of children and elderly people who find themselves in difficult life situations. The promotion runs from November 15, 2025 to February 28, 2026, and representatives of government agencies and commercial organizations, as well as private individuals, can participate in it.
