PESA Bydgoszcz takes over HeiterBlick. The Polish leader enters the German market

Thanks to this transaction, PESA will increase its presence in Germany, while developing local competences and technologies and creating a synergy effect between the Polish and German industrial sectors.
Joint financing within Team Poland
The acquisition of HeiterBlick was carried out thanks to the financial support of Polish development institutions as part of Team Poland.
In December 2025, PESA signed a strategic financing agreement worth up to PLN 6.8 billion with a consortium of over 20 Polish and foreign financial institutions, including BGK and KUKE.
The funds obtained will allow the company to double its production capacity and secure the implementation of a record order portfolio worth over PLN 15 billion, and also constitute the foundation for further foreign expansion.
Economic diplomacy in practice
Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański emphasizes that the takeover of HeiterBlick by PESA is an example of the effective implementation of the Team Poland strategy, which aims to support the expansion of Polish companies on key foreign markets. — The international expansion of PESA, supported by Polish development institutions, strengthens the competitiveness and innovativeness of the Polish economy and builds the image of Poland as a country of modern technologies – comments Domański.

Piotr Matczuk, president of the Polish Development Fund, emphasizes that the development of the international competitiveness of Polish enterprises is one of the strategic directions of PFR activities.
Team Poland, PESA and PFR – leaders of Polish industry and financing
Team Poland is an initiative of Polish development institutions, such as PFR, ARP, BGK, PAIH, KUKE and PARP, aimed at comprehensive support for the foreign expansion of Polish companies. It includes financing, consulting, insurance, guarantees and promotion tools, making it easier for companies to compete in global markets.
PESA Group employs nearly 4,000 people. employees in plants in Bydgoszcz and Mińsk Mazowiecki. Its vehicles operate in Poland and several European countries, serving, among others, cities such as Warsaw, Kyiv, Tallinn and Sofia. Over two decades, the company has delivered almost 2,000 rail vehicles, becoming a symbol of Polish engineering.

The Polish Development Fund, owned by the State Treasury, invests in strategic projects supporting economic growth, energy transformation and innovation. By 2025, PFR has invested PLN 15 billion directly in Polish companies, and allocated another PLN 4.8 billion to investments in VC and PE funds as the largest institutional investor in the region.
