Gardeners and gardeners were told about a useful additive that can significantly increase productivity and reduce fertilizer consumption. We are talking about natural zeolite – a volcanic mineral, the effect of which lasts up to five years.
As reported by Vslukh.ru with reference to experts, zeolite is still little known to summer residents in comparison with the popular vermiculite or perlite, but it is superior to its analogues.
It works as a nutrient reservoir: it absorbs fertilizer solutions when feeding and gradually releases nutrition to the plants, which prevents the leaching of useful substances. In addition, zeolite improves the structure of the soil, making it loose and breathable, which is critical for the root system. Another property is moisture regulation: the mineral absorbs excess water and releases it back when the soil dries, maintaining an optimal balance.
Agronomists issue an important warning: only volcanic zeolite is suitable for farming. The sedimentary, or oceanic, type dissolves into mush in water. When purchasing, you need to carefully study the packaging.
The mineral can be used in different ways: add up to 25% of crumbs to the soil mixture for seedlings and indoor plants, use it in its pure form as a substrate for orchids, or add it to the soil in the garden and garden to increase productivity.
