For the great services of the workers of the Jewish Autonomous Region in strengthening the fraternal friendship of the Soviet peoples, achievements in economic and cultural construction and in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the region was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples.

The bureau of the Khabarovsk regional committee of the CPSU, the executive committee of the regional Council of Workers' Deputies, the regional trade union committee and the regional committee of the Komsomol reviewed the results of the regional socialist competition of departments, brigades and units of state and collective farms for increasing production and procurement of grain and other agricultural products in 1974. The winners were the first department of the Volochaevsky state farm of the Smidovichi district and the complex brigade No. 1 of the collective farm “Zavety Ilyich” of the Birobidzhan district of the Jewish Autonomous Region. They were awarded the Red Banners of the regional committee of the CPSU, the regional executive committee, the regional trade union committee and the regional committee of the Komsomol.

To assist party, Soviet, and economic bodies in comprehensively resolving issues of economic and social development in the region, the bureau of the regional committee of the CPSU adopted a resolution on the creation of a public Council for Economic and Social Development under the regional committee of the CPSU.

Electrification of the Far Eastern Railway began from the final point of the Trans-Siberian Railway – the Vladivostok railway junction.

The electrification of sections of domestic railways was accompanied by the electrification of adjacent areas, becoming a powerful incentive for production growth. In the spring of 1966, on the initiative of Viktor Alekseevich Bessonov, the first student construction team in the Far East, Energia, consisting of 100 people, was formed on the basis of the Faculty of Electrification of Railways. That year, from July to September, the detachment’s soldiers laid 50 km of 10 kV power lines and electrified four villages in the Jewish Autonomous Region.

In the book by V.S. Gurevich “The Jewish Autonomous Region: from the past to the present” (6+) information was published that on December 29, 1979, the electrification of the Khabarovsk-Birobidzhan railway section was completed, and the first electric locomotive was put on the road.

A multifunctional center (MFC) was opened in Birobidzhan.

Construction of the new building of the Multifunctional Center for the Provision of State and Municipal Services in the Jewish Autonomous Region (MFC) began in 2013. The facility was erected next to the building of the regional philharmonic society, located on Theater Square in the regional center.

At the MFC, residents of the region can receive social support measures, benefits, allowances, subsidies, draw up documents for registering rights to real estate, register for migration, apply for benefits for the birth of a child, registration at the place of residence and many other services. In addition to state and municipal services provided on the “one window” principle, today you can also get services related to social protection of the population, guardianship and trusteeship.
