Louis Munteanu, originally from Vaslui, was at home and was pictured at a demonstration match in the shirt of rival FCSB, a team that wanted him. The attacker reasoned that it was a gesture of support for his former teammate Mihai Popescu, FCSB player, injured.

“Honestly, I support Louis Munteanu, I appreciated him, I like his game. I even said that he is a national team player, but this gesture leaves me speechless. I can't believe that it is a random gesture.
If you make this gesture, you have to assume all the repercussions and all the things that come after this, without having the slightest thing to comment on,” Ciprian Marica said, according to sport.ro.
Asked if Louis Munteanu made this gesture to impress the boss Gigi Becali, Ciprian Marica answered:
“It's a thing… I don't even want to think about it! You can't imagine that such a player can do such a thing. As much as I like Louis Munteanu, I can't say that he did this by chance. Of course, but I consider him a smart player. You can only do this on purpose.”

“During this break, being at home with my parents, I participated in a demonstration tour in Vaslui, my hometown.
For a while I wore the shirt of my friend and former colleague from Farul, Mihai Popescu, as a sign of friendship and support for him in a difficult moment, going through an injury that kept him away from the field.
My gesture was never intended to offend or show disrespect towards the CFR Cluj club or towards the supporters. I understand that this could have been misinterpreted and I am truly sorry for that. It was a strictly human gesture, out of friendship, nothing more,” wrote Louis Munteanu.
